Char Dham Yatra Highlights

Char Dham Yatra Itinerary – 10 Days / 9 Nights

Day 1: Haridwar to Barkot (Approx. 180 km / 6–7 hrs)


  • Begin your journey from Haridwar, driving through scenic landscapes to reach Barkot.
  • En route, you may pass through Mussoorie and witness the beauty of Kempty Falls.
  • Upon arrival in Barkot, check into your hotel and relax.

Day 2: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (45 km drive + 6 km trek each way)


  • Drive to Janki Chatti, the base for the Yamunotri trek.​
  • Embark on a 6 km trek to Yamunotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna.​
  • Take a holy dip in Surya Kund and offer prayers at the temple.​
  • Return to Barkot for an overnight stay.​

Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi (Approx. 100 km / 4–5 hrs)


  • After breakfast, proceed to Uttarkashi, a town known for its spiritual significance.​

  • Visit the renowned Kashi Vishwanath Temple.​

  • Check into your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (Approx. 100 km each way)


  • Early morning drive to Gangotri, the origin of the River Ganga.​

  • En route, take a dip in the hot springs at Gangnani.​

  • Visit the Gangotri Temple and perform rituals.​

  • Return to Uttarkashi for the night.

Day 5: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi (Approx. 220 km / 8–9 hrs)


  • Drive to Guptkashi, a town with rich mythological significance.​

  • En route, enjoy the views of the Mandakini River.​

  • Upon arrival, check into your hotel and rest.​

Day 6: Guptkashi to Kedarnath (30 km drive + 16 km trek)


  • Drive to Gaurikund, the starting point for the Kedarnath trek.​

  • Trek 16 km to reach the Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas.​

  • Attend the evening Aarti and stay overnight in Kedarnath.

Day 7: Kedarnath to Guptkashi (16 km trek + 30 km drive)


  • After morning prayers, trek back to Gaurikund.​

  • Drive to Guptkashi for an overnight stay.

Day 8: Guptkashi to Badrinath (Approx. 185 km / 7–8 hrs)


  • Proceed to Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu.​

  • Upon arrival, visit the Badrinath Temple and take a dip in the Tapt Kund.​

  • Explore nearby sites like Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, and Bhim Pul.​

  • Overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 9: Badrinath to Haridwar (Approx. 320 km / 12–14 hrs)


  • After morning darshan, drive to Rudraprayag, located at the confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers.
  • Conclude your Char Dham Yatra by driving back to Haridwar.​

  • Upon arrival, you may attend the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri.
